Danielle's restored rooms
This kitchen is in need of some serious updating! The dishwasher opens into the refrigerator and there isn’t much room next to the stove for cooking items. Rearranging the appliances in the proper work triangle not only made this kitchen more functional but also gave her ample counter space. The beautiful glass tile I used for the back splash drove this design. Zebrawood was used for most of the kitchen cabinets except for one row of wall cabinets that are high gloss white. I love the contrast between the dark wood and white, plus it makes the kitchen appear larger. Choosing a light counter top gives the feeling of openness so I picked white quartz for the surface. I wanted the glass tile to stand out and not compete with the paint color. So I pulled a gorgeous color Basketweave, C14-3, that matches the glass tile. A support post comes right through the middle of the peninsula part of the counter and it’s a little bit of a nuisance. I resolved it by making the peninsula shorter and flanking the end with two zebra wood veneer posts. It’s aesthetically pleasing and it has purpose. Leaving this area free of base cabinets allows two stools to sit under the counter when not in use. It’s a perfect spot for enjoying a cup of coffee or keeping the chef company! -DANIELLE HIRSCH

The new look is fresh and more open.
Very delightful.
I like the kitchen, mostly because of the colors that were used. Also, the before and after photos showed such and obvious change.
